Work Worries Solved

Monday, November 26th, 2007

Being proactive, productive, and following the rules at work can mean the difference between receiving a raise staying where you are.

Unfortunately, you can’t always be as productive as you would like because some tasks take longer to finish. This is especially true of the work policy for record management. Most of us don’t have a few hours in the day to delete all the old, unneeded documents sent in email and saved on the desktop. We may not even know which documents need to be saved on the central server and which copies can be deleted.

To help with this task, there is compliance software. This software ties an invisible e-thread through the documents to help employees easily track the most updated document and save it on a secure drive.

This software won’t interfere with your daily tasks, and will help you be more productive and policy compliant at work. With your important documents securely stored and organized, your boss probably couldn’t be happier.

The Necessity of Online Backup

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

I am constantly surprised by the lack of thought and concern people have for computer application backup.  Priceless photographs, MP3 files, financial records, and other important computer files sit on countless hard drives exposed and unprotected.

At any given time, computers are susceptible to failure, damage, or theft. The loss of invaluable personal files can be devastating while loss of critical business documents can mean financial ruin for some establishments.

While backup alternatives such as CDs and external hard drives may seem like inexpensive, pragmatic solutions, they are far from it.  They are just as prone to damage and possible theft as the original copies on the original hard drive, especially if they are being stored in the same vicinity as or near the original.

Online remote backup is a much more cost-effective and secure way to backup important PC applications.  Simply select the apps you would like to have backed up and when.  The scheduled backups take place via the internet and “behind the scenes” of your computer, when it is not in use or in “standby” mode.  The copies are kept remotely on a server so in case the originals are lost or destroyed, the copies can quickly be restored.

Not only is it more secure, but online backup is often is less expensive as well.  Most backup companies charge a low monthly fee, and depending on the service, the amount of space may be unlimited.  Consider online backup; a more secure, economical, and sensible way to backup invaluable computer applications.
